Chevy Engine original. Powerglide two speed original. original Carb & distrib. rebuilt, new points and plugs, timing done using flywheel markings. 71,000 orig miles. Vac. advance for this eng. turns entire distrib. and slows firing when vac falls during 0-10 mph acceleration. We are pretty stumped. Car drives great after 10 mph and can accelerate quickly after 10 mph. Anybody out there solved this before??

Most likely: accelerator pump or circuit stopped up. With engine OFF :o remove air cleaner/filter, take a look with a light down the throat of the carb, move the accelerator quickly and you should see raw gas injected into the throat.
