I'm not sure if this post is better here or in the '55 forum, but it's a part on the engine, so...

I'm putting an overdrive trans behind my 235 in my '55 Bel Air. I have just about everything that I need, but I need to modify the throttle linkage to include a "paddle" that presses the kickdown switch. My intention is to fabricate something that's representative & functional, since I can't seem to come up with an original. If anybody has one of these, I'd appreciate a few measurements to help me fabricate one. Here's a scan from the factory assembly instructions;
I marked it up with some dimensions that I need:

The dimensions are essentially the length, width, height, and material thickness. Once again, any help will be appreciated.

Thanks, Joe

JoeDv, I got the measurements you need.

L = 1.450"
W = .850"
H = .275"
From the top of the rod to the top of the paddle is 1.080"
The paddle is 90 degrees to the rod
metal thickness is a little over 16 Gauge

Hope this helps. You'll love the overdrive!
