I bought some $5.00 LED TAIL LIGHT BULBS on ebay. They have 19 LED'S. They are 12 volt for my '57. The bulbs are not as bright as the conventional bulbs.
I did get some 6 V for the '50 from Chevs of the '40's and will be installing them tomorrow. They cost 3X as much and are the bulbs Brewster has.

Let us know how it goes. You should be happy with the ones for the '50…

I installed an LED bulb on one side. I am rather disapointed with it. The center of the lens seems a little brighter. This is the area the LED;s point at. The rest of the lens doesn't light up as much because the light is concentrated in the center.
Will need to test it more under diffeerent conditions.
I always thought the brake lights were fairly bright on my '50 especially compared to 1941-1948's with the heavy glass lenses.
The problem is that the lights are so small. Don't know what they were thinking back then.

Get someone else to step on the brake for you, and walk back 4 or 5 car lengths like on the hiway. They're bright back there!

I bought some very expensive 6v LEDs from Highspeed Garage and was very disappointed. No brighter than stock for a LOT more money.

I instaled one of the Filling Station $15.00 LED bulbs on one side of my '50. It (the brake light in daylight) about 15 % brighter than the other side.

Is that 15% worth the price .... in other words, are you satisfied with that improvement ?

Too low of a satisfied percentage to consider buying those bulbs.
