Hi

My Harisson honeycomb radiator is in pretty bad shape , it has been welded everywhere on the core ( some hexagon part on the core are missing because they were welded ), it it also weld on the bottom and on the top and there is a crak on the top . Is it rebuidable for a reasonable cost? Is anybody have bought replacement honeycomb radiator ,I know the filling station have one , how does he look , is he worth the $$$$ ? There is one from brasswork also is it the same as the filling station ? Does it look good ? Is there a place here in Canada I could buy one (the money exchange rate is pretty bad )

thank you

Nic

I have installed the new honeycomb cores in most of my older cars. In my opinion, they are worth the money. (The cost is "ouch!") But you will get over it.

Have not read many complaints about them, everyone seem to be content and happy with them. Heard nothing but good things so far about Brasswork.

I bought my radiator core from F.S. and was very happy with it. I had a set of tanks put on locally for another 150. Harder to justify to the wife than myself.

I bought a new honeycomb radiator core from the Filling Station and it is great. However, I was able to purchase it before the price went way up.

Great !! According to you guys they are both good so which one looks better ( filling station or brasswork ) or do they look exactly the same because the price is not the same !

Thank you

Nic

not sure what year you are restoring, but if it is a '31 and you plan to use a stoneguard, a modern core fitted to the tanks would be fine and only noticable from under the hood. Not period correct, but likely $500 less.

In both my sedan and roadster I have industrial cores. I've driven my sedan on 90-100 deg. days and the temp barley came up to warm on the temp gauge. Not original but very functional. I used Rice radiator in Chatham Ontario Canada. They are a family run business and great to work with. Cost was right around 500 I supplied the tanks.

It is a 1930 truck , having a modern core is not really an option , I want to keep the original looking ( the way it was build) and the way it was when my grandpa bougth it decades ago !

The Filling Station and The Brassworks both have quality honeycomb radiators, so with that said, you might want to look at price next.
