I have a friend selling a 1947 and asked me how much he should sell it for.
Missing: Glass, Motor, transmission and rear end.
The car has surface rust almost all over. some rust through at rear fenders. I could see bondo coming off in a couple of spots.
2 door sedan
Data plate:
47-1227

Trim: 121
Paint: 344
Tell me what the data means.
How much should he sell it for ????

47-1227 = 1947 Style Master 2 passenger coupe.

47 = 1947
12 = Style Master which is the Body Series
27 = Body Type which is a coupe

Does it really say 47-1227B ?

You stated that you had a 2 door sedan, so I am confused. A 2 door sedan would either be 47-1011 or a 47-1211.

Paint Code 344 = Mayland Black

As the Toolman mentioned, 41-1227 is a coupe, not a 2-door sedan. A 2-door sedan is a 47-1211.

If I put a $1000.00 price tag on it in the condition as reported, I think I would be willing to deal if I found an interested party. They are really not as rare as you might think, but that's just one opinion.

Mine has all the glass and engine and tranny, but I need a trunk lid, but I would almost sell mine for a thousand. They aren't as rare as you would believe, just like bowtie said sell it if you have a buyer.
