Can I use 1927 points in a 1925 distributor?
If so how?

Hi Jim,
To use a more modern contact set, the distributor backing plate must be changed to a type that will take the type of points you wish to fit. The '25 K distributor is a Remy pot metal type and is now usually very fragile and not entirely suited to modifying. I found a cast steel '26 V Delco Remy distributor and modified that to take a set of modern points. I was also able to switch the Remy nameplate and it is not now easy to notice the later distributor. You could do as suggested with a '27 distributor but you will still be limited to that style of points.

So, the easy answer is no, as Ray says but it can be done.

By your post I assume you are referring to the late '27 points. The early '27 points are the same as the '25. Later '27 points were used 1927L to 1934 (Standard). As was pointed out it is necessary to use the proper distributor plate for the point set.

Thanks everyone for your advice.
My 25 chev has a 26 engine, so let me check which distributor I have. The low tension coil wire comes in from the bottom not on the side like it did on my 31 chev.

Jim a 374A is a late '26, early '27 distributor.
