Mine is original, and is just a normal silver screen color.

Thanks for asking that question. I painted mine body color but wondered what was right. I would have bet body color or black. Silver it is!!

Mine is black as is the body color,not the factory color"whoops"I have'nt examined yet how the vent body is removed,is there any tricks to removing it.chef- chevy

The manual does offer a process, but I had to bend the mounting ears a little to get it out, being very careful not to break it. I didn't see any other way.
