I have only used front steer but a rear steer should drive fine, the only thing might be an issue would be clearance for oil pan and exhaust. What engine and trans do you plan to use.

If you use the rear dump exhaust manifolds and set tha engine as far back as you can the rear steer should work.

I used a fatman fabircation hub to hub front stub in a 40 Buick that I did for a friend and it was all good quality parts, that was 7 years ago.

KUGEL KOMPONENTS in calif is top quality. Lots and lots of people use FATMAN systems.

Normal is rear steering behind the new fatman cross member. Sits down lower in that area even with the cross member.

If it was front steer you'd never get the steering rack head to show so you could hook up the BORGESON steering JOINTS.

Tight tuck headers are a must and borgeson steering joints with center HEIM joint support = ( spherical rod end ) 3/4".

keeping in mind that 35 degrees is maximum deflection before binding occurs in a single center joint system , from steering column down to the steering rack assembly.

See what FAT MAN is offering and buy it.

Generally its easier to have the rack and pinion steering to the rear, so that its easier to hook up the steering column. There must be a reason for front suspension builders to mount them to the rear.........ease of installation.

**Laverne** is obviously building the truck into a street rod, not my problem if YOU don't like it. They are asking a question and I am answering it. The truck will ride really good, will go where its steered, stop quick and fast when combined with disc brakes in the front.
