In the G M parts catalog what does "CBL" refer to? "SDL" is Sedan Delivery. But under Abbrevations on page 5 there is no listing for CBL. I have been looking for door handles for my Fleetline Areo sedan I think P/N 4125220 is what I'm looking for. I have looked at some on Ebay and they are not correct. The catalog shows 4 different P/Ns for 48, I suspect the ones on Ebay are for station wagons.
Thanks,

Cbl is Cabriolet which is what Chevrolet called a convertible from 1936 thru 1948.4125220 would fit the 1941-48 car except sedan delivery, convertible, and the rear doors of a 1947-48 Fleetline 4 door and station wagons.

I am pretty sure I have seen these handles in the Chevs of the 40s catalog. I have been looking for a nice set for my '48 cabriolet too. Bowtie

The cabriolet calls for a unique part number handle. I am not sure just what the difference is - but they seem to be unique, I suspect the rod length or taper pin hole. I have an OK set on the car now, but they are pretty pitted. I will shot you an e-mail tonight. Bowtie.

The length of the shaft thru the door to the latch is the difference. I took regular NOS ones to a machine shop and had them extended to the proper length. If you have old ones the shaft can be cut off and added to get what you need.
