Hi, I read somewhere that a hard copper tube could be fitted in place of the steel tube for the head-valve area oil drain. My car's steel tube is in sad shape, so I need to repair this when I install my NEWLY REBUILT(!) head. Comments?

Are you referring to the Tube, Oil Return (Cylinder Head to Block) 835843 If so may want to talk to Chistech, as he had to do this for his Engine. My 31' Spec. Sed. #18, Motor internals C

I used electrical conduit. You will need to massage the ends some with a file. (I used my lathe) I made mine in two piece as my head was in place. If I remember right the hole in the head is slightly bigger in diameter than the lower hole in the block.

That's the one. I have access to a lathe so I think I see how to do this. My head is still off so I am planning ahead (oops...) for the reassembly. Thanks
