Best bet is search on the internet.

IMHO...For regular salvage yards, yes....but for vintage cars & trucks, in my experience, you have to do a lot of searching, asking strangers, driving in areas that no one knows about, and many of those property owners don't even know what a computer looks like.

You could also look at satellite-view maps and spot clumped-together rusted vehicles in desolate areas...especially in the Midwest.

btw..my brother once had a '46 Suburban, and the previous owner claimed to have found it in the middle of the desert in Nevada. He flies one of those single-passenger short-range planes to look for abandoned vehicles for later retrieval. Not sure if I believe the story, though.....

Most larger yards with large inventory are on the net as that's the best way to reach unknown buyers. However I agree if you are looking for the unknown you have to beat the bushes. With all the members in VCCA and their interest in Chevrolets this is a good place to contact someone that may have an unadvertised item. A post in the wanted forum would be good. The Midwest seems to have the largest inventory of decent old iron as most on the east coast is destroyed by rust in short time.

I searched my old Ebay purchases for the yard I was getting my old parts from...Seems they have deleted stuff I bought from years back...Even my "favorites" listings...I'll keep looking...
I still have the box the stuff came in...Just have to find it...

Try Moores Auto Salvage in Rapid City South Dakota. They list a 1939 parts car on the internet, but you will have to call them to check for the hood. phone is 605-348-4926

Check out this wrecking yard since they specialize in Chevrolets:

By the way, when you post in all capitals it is considered as yelling.

Good luck with your search!

there's a guy on EBay called "Minnesota Mike", he has lots of 30's parts in his yard, he might be a good contact. He's helped with my 38.
