I just bought a 1930 Chev sedan. Few things to do before spring hits but car almost ready for road. But the front seat is just sitting on the floor. Can anyone show me pictures of what the seat should be sitting on.
Thank you :

Is your sedan a 2 or 4 door ? I have a 4 door and will get some pics of mine around later today. Essentially you should have the Seat Assembly (less cushion) and the seat adjuster assembly. There is a metal pan underneath all of this also.

Sorry I didn't say. It is a 4 door. The interior is all redone but the seat is just sitting on the floor over the tool tray. Why everthing was done inside and why seat is on the floor is anyone quests. I would be very greatful if you got send pictures of what the seat should be sitting on.
Thank you for your time.

No problem. I am painting top. Then putting in wiring harness from Y N Z. Don't trust 85 year wires. I just appreciate the time you take to get me pictures so I can either make something the same as original. Till I can find original at swap meets.
Again: Thank you.

Not sure what the seat sits on, but I do have a front seat adjuster mechanism for a 31 and I believe 30 and 31 are the same. I can email a photo of that for you if you think that would help.

From the parts book looks like the 1930 and 1931 four door sedans have the same adjusting mechanism and supports. I have several parts (maybe all of them) at least enough to make others if some are missing. Will take me a while to find them as we have our region sponsored swap meet this weekend and we have to get ready for the hoards of rusty part hungry fiends.

Appreciate all of your time for answering my question. I am a newbie to 1930 car. I have a 1969 meteor ragtop. Way different from the 1930.

Thanks for pictures of the adjuster for the front bench seat. I would still need picture of what rest of the seat sits on. Is it legs or a whole base? If anyone else has pictures of that it would be great.
Thanks for pictures Steve.

Got some pictures of the seat base, but the seat assembly (less cushion) is on the frame and hides a lot of detail. Send me a pm with your email and I'll send you what I have, it will give you an idea what you need. I struggle getting the pics on photo bucket then linking them up to Chat... Will do that later.

The seat sets on a frame made of what looks like a 1-1/2 in. C-channel on each side and wooden spacers running the width of the seat in front and rear.

I started taking the screws out to reveal the frame in more detail but it was too lightning cold where I have the car stored... Tomorrow I'll take the cordless drill and make quick work of it. Will also get some dimensions for you.

Getting closer !
