I need a set of tires for my 31 and the best price is on Universal Brand tires. Has anyone purchased these in the past? Are looks and quality similar to Lester and BFG tires?

Thanks

I purchased Univeral double white wall tires for my 1930 and they seem to have their own design from what I can tell. The tires are of a nice quality.

Skip,
I pulled out the article from Cars and Parts magazine on your 1930 Chevy; Carla's concours chassis restoration from august 1988. It shows your double white sidewalls there.

I have had a set of single whitewall universals on my 1931 coupe since 1980 and I am now overdue for a new set. They were made in the USA then and were really good tires for me. The new universal tires in 19" are made overseas and do not come in a whitewall. I will stick with USA tires.

Good going. All of the tires on my modern cars are made in the USA and finding USA manufactured tires is getting tough to do!

Wow, same here, I try to buy USA made but it is almost impossible on many things!

I just mounted a set of Goodyear whitewalls from Lucas tire for my '31, they are US made by Goodyear although the guy at the Goodyear store couldn't get them, I thought that was weird. They look good and ride nice.
