How do I tell if my disc wheels are '26-'27 (which take a 2 1/2" split rim) or a "28 (which takes a 3" split rim)? Are the disc wheels the same and the two split rims interchangeable?

The 26-27 discs will only accept the 26-27 rim. There is a notch and a cutout place that will only allow the 2 1/2 inch rim to be mounted.

The 28 discs are set up for the 3 inch rims only.

The 1926/27 felloe (the part the rim fits onto) is 1 1/2 inches wide, and on the 28 wheels it is 2 inches wide. In each case the correct rim will fit both the disk and the spoked wheels, but the earlier rims won't fit the 28 wheels and vice versa.
