There does not seem to be a source for gaskets specific to these years. What has everyone else used? Did you have to modify gaskets that cover a list of years? Did you have to use a glue or cement to hold them in place? Lastly, do you have the correct dimensions of the cork strip? Thanks.

The '31-32 cork headlight seal is available from FS for $1.99 (VT-19). Gary Wallace also has them. I did not use any cement; they fit just fine.

Thanks for the response. I saw the VT-19 but the listing says they are for 1920-30. In fact I may have a set of those that I bought for my 1930 car. I also have a set from Gary but again they say they are for 1929-39 so I think they have to be modified to fit 1931.

The headlight lens gaskets for 1929-30 are completely different than the headlight lens gaskets used in 1931-32.

Well, the VT-19 was the answer so I will put this thread to bed. I will say though that I don't see how the set Gary is selling would work without modification because it is about twice the size of the VT-19 set.

Yes Skip, I know. I played that game on my 1930 roadster. In fact, I bought the VT-19 set and was told by someone( maybe you) that they were totally wrong for my car. I wound up having Olson Gaskets make me a couple of sets that resembled the originals.

The VT-35 is more correct for 1929-30 than the VT-19. As I remember, years ago the Filling Station had the exact correct flat, wide, heavy cardboard headlight lens gaskets for 1929-30 and I believe that those were replaced by the VT-35 gaskets.

I was told not to use glue or adhesive as it accelerates oxidation on the silver plated reflectors. Other than that the cork gaskets from fm work fine.
