It was dealer installed, so pretty much up to the dealer or car owner where it went. It just replaced one of the screws holding the windshield garnish on. This is my 1951, and I have it placed there because the steering wheel interferes with the sightline if it were any more to the left... ![[Linked Image from i150.photobucket.com]](http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s84/brewsterg6/My%201951%20Chevrolet/1950ChevyConvertible017.jpg)

For 1951 the installation instructions says that location OR the screw to the left. You get two choices. For 1950 the screw to the lft.

Begin on page 88, then go to 89. You will note two suggested mounting screws. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/accessories/1951am/51aim88.htm

The originsl 1950 instructions that came with my 1950 viewer was the screw to the left. The viewer was a 1950 mid-year accessory so the instructions are not in the 1950 accessory installlation manual..

Did dealers incorporate the traffic light viewers when selling the visor? Inquiring minds want to know...

Not in this part of the country. They were seldom seen on a Chevrolet.
Every Pontiac with a visor seemed to have a viewer.

"They were seldom seen on a Chevrolet".
Gene, are you referring to the visor or the view finder?

The question was about a viewer. They probably were more popular in areas that had the traffic lights that were hung above the intersection. Here in the Milwaukee area the lights were on posts on the corners so it wasn't necessary to to look up into the sky to see the light. Visors were very popular in this area but few were the one offered by Chevrolet. Most were Fultons or Pontiac with some Olds for good measure.

The Fulton viewers are the gold standard of viewers. The articulating arms of the Fulton viewer allow for many more adjustment possibilities. The original mounting instructions are pretty clear on the original box of a NOS Fulton viewer I have in the collection..... Did dealers incorporate the traffic light viewers when selling the visor? Cheers,
Dave Chevrolet dealers marketed the viewers separately from the sun visor itself. The Pontiac sun visors actually included a viewer in the same box with the sun visor.

I really don't care for the pic on the box of how the Fulton viewer is placed I have been all over the internet looking for other different ideas on how people have put them on their cars. I remember seeing a dash pic with viewer using the screw to the left of the arc of the speedo but haven't been able to find it got plenty of time before its cruising season again andy

I would describe it as ugly. Gene cracks me up The Fulton viewer looks pretty stylish compared to the thick glob of plastic that GM used with the Guide viewers....
