I have knocked a tooth off my pinion, and ask if you could help me with names of companies that might be able to supply me with a new set. Crown wheel has 37 teeth, and the pinion 9.
Thanks for any leads you can provide me with.

Thanks for any leads you can provide me with. Member ----- *** wisebri ***---just bought one off ebay USA 2 weeks ago for $50 to replace the busted gear in the 34-35 chev std rear I had sold him. I did not know until he took it apart. The part was missing 4 teeth, maybe he has the one part that was still good. I would think they would be real hard to find but the 34-35 standards also had an optional 3.55 gear set . mike...........

Ring gear and pinions were sold as a matched set. Would be advisable to find new if possible. The optional for a 1935 Standard was a 3.82. The first Chevrolet to have a 3.55 was the 1950 Power Glide.

I have a used pinion gear you are welcome to for free. Just pay the shipping. It is advisable to replace the ring and pinion as a set. There are two on ebay but one is $250 and the other is $295. I think it is VAPINC that has a set NOS The 3:82 is impossible to find.

Thank you all for your responses which I appreciate. I would like to buy new if I can. I went onto the Vintage Auto Parts Inc site - Thank you Wisebri - and they are listing a 34 Master, but not a 35 Standard. I presume a 34 Master will not fit my car? Thanks again.

No Master parts won't fit. I might suggest calling Vapinc. Chevy B is a good alternative unless you pick one up off of ebay.

I might have NORS set. It will be a few days before I can check.

Thank you again.
Wisebri - I have emailed Vapinc and will call them if I don't hear in a couple of days. I don't understand your comment about Chevy B. Sorry to be stupid, but could you please explain?
35 Mike - I would like to hear from you if you are able to help me. brett@btsl.co.nz

Not stupid. Bruce (chevy b) is offering you a used complete carrier unit which is the ring, pinion, bearings, etc. assembly. You won't have to deal with the rivets which hold the ring gear. Ebay parts are NOS. If Mike has NORS thats a good alternative. Only my suggestions after my experience. We all benefit from this forum. Good Luck!
