I looking at a radiator for my 31 pickup. but the owner has a 31 passenger radiator, are they the same? also to get the frame off of the radiator do you bend the little tab out straight and then slide it apart. i'm sure its not that simple so any pointers would be helpful.
thanks Jay D.

The 1931 1/2 ton radiator is the same as the passenger. The 1/2 ton and 1 1/2 ton truck radiator shell has the same dimensions as the chromed brass passenger but is painted steel. All 1931 radiators will fit in the shells but the 1 1/2 ton has smaller cells and therefore a little more cooling capability.

It is necessary to remove the slide on clips to remove the mounting brackets from original radiators. Bending back the locking tabs will be necessary. Some later replacements have permanently mounted brackets.
