Seeing all the snow coverage on TV.
How are you folks doing, those who were involved with the blizzards and snow storms ?

Parts of southern N.H. got 30" of snow and everything was back to normal the next day. It was nice dry light snow so it did not cause a lot of havoc. They could have used more snow in the northern part of the state where they got barely 6". With 7000 miles of snow machine trails it's a large part of the recreational business in the winter.

Now, coming your way this weekend is another load of snow. Hang in there.

The problem is in the populated areas, there is just no place to put the snow. I'm down FL the wife opted out to stay close to her Mom who is turning 96 in March. I was getting hourly reports from long Island,,,,,, no snow in Ocala!

It was 60 degrees twice this week in Seattle. We only had about 20 inches of snow at Snoqualmie Pass where it's usually 50+ inches by now. So... that means that Seattle will have water restrictions this summer. Seriously!!! Lawn watering restricted to every third day - and no car washing. No ice in the restaurants. If you plan on visiting next summer, be prepared to only drink beer. Amazing.

I live in Southern NH and we got 34 inches of snow in the latest blizzard. We watched it snow really hard all day Tuesday but were out of our driveway by 10 PM Tuesday evening. The schools were closed Wednesday but were back open again by Thursday. We are awaiting another 4 to 6 inches this weekend. This has been the most snow I have been involved with in my 70 years. The last blizzard was in 1978 and we got 25 inches then.I don't believe its record snowfall but I'm sure its close. Lee

You all can keep that white stuff up there above the equator. I generally only get a couple of inches a year and that is too much.
I live on the main road between the state capital and the snow fields and found it brings all the idiots out.

Feel sorry for the people in northeast as more on the way as I understand it.
Raining here now, 39 deg, soon to change to freezing rain, thence snow later today with 10" of snow by tomorrow night forecast. Been mostly open winter here with just a few inches of snow to date. Blowers and shovel at the ready.
Take care and stay warm folks!!
Jim.

Same here, raining and 33 degrees. The snowplow truck is backed in my garage and ready. Supposed to be really nasty tonight and all day tomorrow!

Well, most of us survived it Charlie but I am getting tired of it. About ready to head south for awhile, have you got room for our motorhome in your drive way? Don't worry, just kidding. We are going to try for Texas later this month if the wife's health allows it.

Texas is nice. A bit cold today but warms to the 70s by the weekend. We haven't seen snow at our place in 10 years. We get snow about once every 40 years. Have oranges, grapefruit, plantains (bananas) growing in some yards. We love Iowa money and Iowans. If you stay 'til mid-April we have a VCCA tour nearly in our backyard.

Been praying for snow for the last couple of months and ground was bare up until this morning. Finally got a 1/2 inch but not nearly enough. Oh well, we got February and March yet so there is still hope. Big Fishing Derby coming up Saturday and then the Ice Cup golf tournament on the lake the 28th. Doesn't get much better than that.
I think I'm a fairly wise person because I'm smart enough to realise I'm not too bright.

In Minnesota and no snow ? I would have thought you would have had lots of snow, by now.

Well we were supposed to get between 7-12" here in the Dartmouth/New Bedford area of MA. So I wake up this morning to 20" and sit was still snowing. What the hell. LOL. Doesn't really bother me though. My brother plows my yard and I do a little snow blowing of paths to my dog's kennels and stuff like that. What really ticks me off is I don't have a snowmobile anymore. Usually we get snow then a day or two later the rain washes it away so I sold mine years ago. No rain this year and I have really great trails around my house. More to come Tues. too. I could be riding everywhere this year and for the whole last month. At least I can still get to the garage to work on the Chevy.

In north GA, we had 15* last night. Zero is anticipated for Tuesday night and Wednesday night. Weather forecast says north GA should get up to TWO INCHES of snow Sunday night and Monday. News channels are FOLLOWING THE BRINE TRUCKS, TO SHOW VIEWERS BRINE IS BEING APPLIED TO ROADS. Then the news channels are showing viewers a "sneak peak" of the SNOW COMMAND CENTER. Are you kidding me ? Last year Atlanta had a "SNOW STORM", which left TWO FULL INCHES OF SNOW on the ground. After the TWO INCH SNOW STORM last year, Atlanta roads were not passable, BECAUSE the snow plows were not out. The KEY GUY who give the "PLOW NOW ORDER" did not do so. HE was "re-assigned", but not fired. Thousands of children were stranded at their schools OVERNIGHT .... it was a total fiasco, all because of TWO INCHES OF SNOW. Finally, the governor of Georgia, Nathan Deal stated the buck stops with him, but then quickly blamed the weather forecasters for giving state officials BAD INFORMATION. I'm from the snow belt in northeastern Ohio. To watch this ongoing Georgia fiasco is truly sad, the state officials (bafoons) are so quick to blame others, while sitting on their hands, as the weather changes. Thus the reason for TV coverage this year, following the brine trucks through greater Atlanta. Amazing stuff.

We haven't had any snow here in eastern NC this year. I would like to say that I might like to see some fall but given the conditions up north that would be a bit insensitive. I hope all of you up there see some extended relief soon. Must be getting aggravating to deal with. Good luck, Charlie

Spring is just around the corner only the snow banks are so high I can't see that far. Would like to volunteer to go help Bob move his cars only I can't find my trailer which is parked outside under five feet of snow!!! The good news is it has never failed to melt away, though that can also be a problem. Thanks for thinking of us Charlie and others.

I have over 4' in my own yard and I live 2 miles from the ocean here in SE MA. We usually get rain instead of snow. Not this year though. Haven't seen this much snow since 78'! Will get some pictures tomorrow after the wind calms down. It's blowing so hard and there's so much snow flying around that you really can't take a picture of anything right now.

How about USPS mail delivery? Newspapers, UPS, FEDZ, etc. Are they able to get around in all this snow? I suppose that it is next to impossible in some places. Just how high has it to be in order to interrupt these services? If the above isn't bad enough, I sure hope your utilities. sewer, water, electricity, and cable service doesn't to out. There would be nothing for you and the missus to do but make "tricycle motors." (Sorry, I couldn't help it.) You all hang in there. It must take some stout folks to cope with such weather. Spring will be here before you know it. Will too! Keep the faith. Best, Charlie

Up here we have the usual amount of snow for this time of year - maybe a bit more, but it is rather chilly. Fahrenheit and Celsius scales match at 40 below apparently. Saturday night it was 44 below with the wind-chill factor. Right now it's 34 below. Guess I'm soon going to have to hunt up my fur-lined shoe laces!!
