I have removed the 3 screws holding the dome light base to the roof bracket and the base is hanging down on the 2 wires attached to the lamp socket. How do I separate the base from the wires? Can the wires be pulled out of the lamp socket and later replaced? Can the lamp socket be separated from the base? Must the wires be cut and later reconnected? Thanks, Larry

Larry, I had the same experience on my 41 Coupe.

I found that I had to cut the wires {leaving room & wire for reattachment} to remove the Dome Light.

Once I had it out I was able to use some WD-40 and carefully wiggle the light base out of the metal housing. But I was NOT able to get the wires out of my base unit.

Good Luck
