1950 chevy pickup
Engine chevy 1954 235 car Z motor.
Carb/manifold off a 216 probably original to truck carter YF787s
Distributor I believe is off a 216. Rockauto reman for a 1950
Ignition pertronix

I've been looking online for a vac advance
Found out from an ebay vendor I need a delco 1909343 for a 50 truck.
My engine is a car 235

Does it matter what vac advance part number I get?
I found a 1909341. Listed for car 235 up to 53 (my 235 is 54)
I can see a difference in the clamp in some of the searches, but most don't include the clamp anyway.

The 1909341 is at a good price

Ay suggestion on a vac advance number to search for?

Thanks in ADVANCE

Vacuum advance units vary, based on application. Centrifugal weights vary, weight springs vary, as well.

For a 1954 passenger 235, the correct vac. advance for the '54 235 dist. is # 1116076. Unit is "stamped" with an 076.

For a '50 216 dist., the correct # is 1909343.

Any info on the 1909341?

I better stick with the 50 type

quick search of the 54 vac advance shows its bracket angled. I would have to re pipe my vac line and it wouldn't look right in my truck.

Thanks

My GM parts book is 1929 to 1957. # 1909341 does not appear for a vacuum advance.

1909343 fits all 1939-1951
116061 dor 52 cars and 53 sedandevery
116076 for 53-54 car with 235, and 1958 cars
1116089 for 55-57 cars and trucks, 58 and 59 trucks
1116140 for 1959-1962 cars.

Some of the difference is due to motor mount brackets being in the was and some for the advance characterteristics.

This is being listed for sale as 46-54 chevy truck/corvette
the seller may have mislabeled it?

Due to number changes that number is not shown in my 1964, 1959 0r previous pars books. Will do some research.

It may not even be for a GM vehicle. My 1938-1971 Dealer Parts and Accessories Price Schedule does not list the number. The book has part numbers for Chevrolet and also lists if they fit: Buick, Cadillac, Pontiac, Oldsmobile and General Motors Truck.

1909341, 1909343, and 1116143 have the same applications.
It is a basic 1939-1951 car and some truck application.

THE 1909341 IS A VACUUM ADVANCE FOR A 1946-1953 GMC TRUCK. I FOUND IT LISTED IN A 1955 VERSION OF A UNITED MOTOR SERVICE CATALOG.
