Ok 1st I do not have any photos-sorry. I looked at a 36 parts car yesterday and it has everything my Master has (6 bolt wheels, identical dash layout, bright hood trim, brights headlamp buckets, etc) except the front bumper mounts like standard does- the front fender bottoms have the extruding round bumper mounts vs the flat square cutouts for the brackets to slide through. The panels look to be in original paint but rusty. The bumpers have guards as well as the horizontal indentation across the front. Also it does not have the knee action suspension. Were some masters built like this? Thanks

There was, indeed, a Master series with an axle in 1936. If the ID tag is present, the number should include the letters FD. I do not know how the production numbers compare to the FA series with knees.

35Mike, are you implying that the Master FD series used the same fender and bumper brackets as the Standard? The car in question sounds like it has a Standard fender.

The 1936 Master with a straight axle was very rare. More common in 1935.
The front fenders are the same as a Standard....bumper brackets different.

They made a Standard, Sport Sedan that has the front end you are talking about. Also, the Master Deluxe did come with the straight axle. Perhaps you have a Standard, Sport Sedan. There were 12 models made that year with a 1/2 year change. It is important to know exactly what car you do have. Early or late. While some parts do interchange some do not. Look on your plate to find out.

Thanks for the info everyone. It is indeed a Master but since it does not have the knee action, it has the standard style bumper mounts. Also the brackets from the bumper to the mounts are totally different from both the standard and the master with knee.
