BJ,

About 12 years ago I bought some 1936 Chevy Master/PU artillery wheel hubcaps from The Filling Station. I was surprised how nice they look, although the fit is not exactly as good as the original it is very good for something made in China.

If you're interested I'd be glad to send you a photo if you give me your email address. I'm too computer illiterate to post a picture on this forum.

BJ and Brino,Most surviving 36s in Australia are standards and I would assume this one is also. The problem is that there were two different types of caps used in Australia and they dont interchange. One is the US type which uses the same skin as the 34-35 standards but is held in place by clips on the wheel. The other is a bit larger and has a different design. Not sure if they are Canadian or were made in Australia. These are the more common ones and you may have to get them locally.

First there are three different hub caps used on 1936 Chevrolet passenger cars.
The Standard series hub cap is for the 5 lug artillary wheel used on the Standard. It is smaller than the Master hub cap (about 6")
For the Master there were two different 6 lug wheels. The wire wheel hub cap is 8 3/4" in diameter and fits into a cut-out hole in the center of the wheel.
The artillary wheel hub cap 9 1/8" in diameter and retined to the wheel with clips.
Considering the shipping costs involved I am sure you want the correct hub cap.

I'm also looking for nice hub caps for my 1936 chev 4 Dr standard,, the inside diameter is 7 inches, these caps snap into my 17 inch artillery wheels, which are 525/17 and are 5 stud with 4.75 stud pattern. The master series are 6 stud with 5.5 bolt pattern and went to 16 inch in 1937. Some artillery wheels have clips on the wheel to retain the caps, not mine
Can anyone supply caps that fit? I can send pictures if you supply and e mail. The standard series are very hard to find. The replacements appear to be made for master wheels,or USA production vehicles. Thanks. Tony

My earlier post may have given the impression I was confusing the Master and Standard hubcaps. This was not the case. There was also two different wheels to suit these caps and as they came from Canada there may also be two types in Canada as well. On most Australian 1936 Masters the only wheels used were wire and they continued to use 1934 style hubcaps. Towards the end however they went to a 16 inch artillary wheel which resembled the 1935 17 inch artillary wheel and used a very unusual domed hubcap. These caps are very rare now. These may have come out of Canada but I really dont know. I do have three of these wheels however.
