I am having a difficult time removing the bell housing from the block (235) I removed the upper 2 bolts, located on the outside and top of the housing, I also removed 2 bolts from inside the housing, I backed them off until they hit the flywheel, but I cannot removed them entirely. I see no other bolts. After several very aggressive swings of a single jack,it will not break free. Am I missing some bolts somewhere? The block is a '60 or '62 and the bell is a '48 (I think)
SUGGESTIONS?
Walt

As far as I know you must remove the clutch and flywheel in order to remove the bellhousing.

You must remove the flywheel and 6 bolts to get the bell housing off.

After you take off the clutch & flywheel you will see the two bolts you missed inside the bell housing. Remove them, and the bell housing will tap off. They are located behind the flywheel thats why you cant see them.
Dont feel bad this problem is VERY common!! laugh
