I have my master 85 gearbox out for a rebuild . I did get john deere corn head grease @ 3.75 a tube . and from chev of 40 I got a rebuild kit with 2 new bushings ( steel shell on outside - brass lined inside )I also bought a n.o.s. pitman arm . it came with 2 new - all brass bushings . should I use the steel or brass bushings ? frank

Either one should be satisfactory. The lubrication is the main thing.

I would use a thin coat of chassis grease on the wearing surfaces. Then when installed in the car fill the housing with a mixture of 1/2 chassis grease and 1/2 transmssion gear oil.
