for over 20 years i have run the car for 5 mins+to get oil circulating and warmed before driving. is this good or am i wasting gas

Unless it is very cold out I would suggest running the engine for a minute and then driving at slower speeds for the first few minutes. I tend to drive slower while the oil gauge is pegged at 30 pounds. Kind of keep increasing speed while keeping the pressure around 25 pounds until warmed up oil wise.

I always warm up my cars from a cold start for about 5 minutes....even my newer vehicles.

By the way, in the future you might want to post in the 1933-36 forum.

On the Forum List Page, just scroll down until you get to the 1933-36 forum and then click on that forum. Then click on "New Topic". Posting there is the same procedure as posting in this forum.
