Hi, I am in New Zealand and restoring a 1929 AC Phaeton. Unfortunately the windshield side posts were mislaid by the person who began dismantling it. Can anyone help with me being able to find a pair either used or new. I will of course pay shipping. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and a Happy New Year to everyone.

Hi! What windshield do you have? The cast corners or stamped steel. From what I understand there were two windshields used in 29.

Thanks for the reply. I have no windshield at all. All windshield parts including side posts are missing. I have nothing above the cowl with it's two mounting holes. If I can get the side posts I can make the screen to suit. thanks again. Colin

Do you have a firewall with separate center piece or is the firewall a single stamping? The early '29 used the separate center piece and cast iron bases for the windshield side posts. The later '29 used the single piece firewall and stamped bases for the posts.

Thanks for the reply, the firewall is a single piece stamping and the top of the cowl has two mounting holes. I have no other windshield parts.

My 1929 Phaeton has three (not two) mounting holes in the cowl for the windshield base brackets. The brackets themselves are pressed steel and are identical to the ones in my 1930 Phaeton. It's interesting, I just installed them onto the car this week and am preparing to mount the rest of the windshield.
As an aside, the '29 I'm restoring is an RHD vehicle. Not Australian, but South American, assembled at the GM facility in Montevideo, Uruguay.
I can post some photos if you think it would help... I've been watching ebay for these brackets and other windsheld parts for my next project and have only seen them once in the last 4-5 years.
I'd be happy to help with photos etc and I'm happy to hear that others are restoring one of these old beauties. Send me a PM if I can help.
All the Best, Chip
