Just wondering what plans VCCA folks have made for New Years Eve? At our home, we will be staying near the fireplace, staying off the roads to avoid the "amateur drinkers / drivers", and hopefully staying awake until the ball drops at midnight. Most of all, we will be thankful to be here, on this earth, to see another year come into our lives. Happy New Year too all!

Us too (quite evening at home). Another couple is coming over for dinner and we might watch an old movie (Hatari). ;-)

We have been getting together with 2 other couples and play Trivial Pursut for the last 10-15 years. Guys against the girls. The gals alway seem to beat us most of the time.

Haven't seen the "ball" drop in years….can't make it past 11PM! No fireplace lighting here…it's 80 degrees….big Prime Rib planned for din-din (probably why I can't make it past 11PM!!!)….quiet day for the wife and I….I just hope the protestors planning to be in Times Square don't screw things up royally for the New Year…let's hope for the best…Happy New Year to all….Billu38

Sounds like a Good New Years Eve...
We plan to take it Easy and TRY to stay up to see the ball drop, Not always successful in doing so. Got a Small Party Tray to enjoy with the family later this eve, maybe watch a movie or two or play a game with the kids.
As with you all I am glad to have survived another year, and looking forward to another one.

I have a 1927 Chevy Capital AA 4 Door also a 1927 Chevy Touring car, a 1936 Chevy 1/2 ton and a 2010 Corvette LT3 Convertible and a 1953 Packard Caribbean. My tow car is a 2011 Suburban.

I will be spending New Year's Eve the same way I have for the last couple of decades, flat on my back checking my eyelids for leaks.

I'll be enjoying the evening reading up on a stack of new magazines that came in the mail this week, including the G&D. Probably have some of the New Years stuff on the TV.

More tearing down of the 28..New dremel delux and a air chisel for Chrismas. Primerib this evening with a very understanding wife..Life is good..Happy NEW Year All.

Instead of Trvial Pursuit, move two coffee tables together. On each coffee table, place a disassembled 216. Now ..... each husband and wife team work against the other husband and wife team, seeing who can get their 216 together and running on the coffee table first.

Grew up in NYC, live 20 miles outside NYC, worked 35 years NYC (15 years in Times Square) Never saw the ball drop in person, and I don't know anyone who ever did. Just a big tourist event.

Spent a quiet evening at home. Not much goes on in Dade City,Florida. I seen the ball drop for 1954,I was ten at the time and my Mom and I made the trip into the city from Woodside Queens. I was glad I got to see in at least once but would not go again in that madhouse.
