Hi.
I bought a set of rebuilt knee action units for my 1934 Master.
The poblem is that the "hole" for the king pin on one of the units, is worn (to big).
Video:

What can I do about this? Is it possible to get oversize king pins? Other solutions that could work?
Thanks!

I had the same problem with the kingpin holder on my 39MD and had it sleeved and machined to size. It proved totally satisfactory.Wasn't too expensive either.

The good news is Chevrolet sold a .010" oversized king pin for rebuilt kneeaction units years ago.
The bad news is I doubt if you could find one today.
It really is not worn but was reamed-out oversize at one time.
I would also recommend having a bushing mad which probably involve making the opening larger so the bushing can be made to fit..
Actually once the king pin and kneeeaction is assembeled there is no "turning" at that point due to the king pin lock pin.
A larger king pin would involve different bushings.

when everything is tightened correctly there is no movement in those parts.

I used to do that oversize king pin bushing thing years ago...Back in the 1980's...Once a bronze bushing was pressed in I would hone it to fit the pin...Man, that's old school...Not sure where you can find someone to do it anymore...Post a thread on H.A.M.B and see what you come up with...There's got to be Job Shops that still do it...Even with new standard parts there will be a sight amount of play...Even a .001 or so, with the wheels on, you can still feel the slightest wiggle with both hands on the tire...I replaced mine only to find they didn't even need it...

You can find oversize reamers on eBay...

That is a bit to much...Looks to be about .005 or about .135 mm...I worked in a grinding shop that did "centerless" pins, but one oversized hardened and all it would be way to $$...Contact the folks you got this from and see if they won't exchanged it for a proper/better part...Don't except lousy machine work...You want a new knukle...not necessarily the pin...if the pin came w/the knukle...Give us more info...
