Hi Rlynne ,
I see that your title to the post is 1914 490 , but 490's were only produced late 1915 ( as 1916 year models) to 1922. If you get a chance I would see if you can find some engine casting numbers and a dash identity plate, or a plate on the firewall under the dash to help track down the year of manufacture.

I think that you would need to take a good look at the wood structure of the floor to help find what is out of alignment with the back doors. If the wooden sills are rotten , the doors will keep falling back and opening up the gaps.

I'm logged in with 1914plum490 so I'm not going to change my log in I just got car this summer and it was reg and licensed in 1914 on the title I know it,s a 1916 model but at time going by what I was given, 3 dr, touring,no water pump title stating 1914 everyone has been helping me figure this out, motor num is 8 15. But flywheel is stamped 14 and ser num is h2565. It is also plum in color and look like original color. Anyway I'm thrilled with my find and the fact it's a driver and only chevy I have vs 7 ford products,40 ply pickup and 65 marlin. Thanks

It is the tops on both sides that are out about 2 to 2 1/2 inches total bottoms are close the front door fits nice and the wood doesn't look rotted but car probably has lot of gravel road miles, also is metal strap braces from floor up sides screwed to wood original? Thanks
