Do any of you guys know where I can get new springs for my 37 knee actions?? Apple Hyd. & Five Points, want my old units to rebuild. But Iv'e already had them re-machined with new bushings. My old one's [Springs] look like their setting to low, after adjustment!! Thanks,

My educated guess is the spring would be as rare as hens teeth. The dealers didnt even stock them when they were current.
A shim can be placed on the top of the spring.

You may want to check with Eaton. They have been doing springs for a long time.

Thanks Gene, for the Info. about the shims on the coiled springs. I had tried that on them, two shims on the right front an one on the left. Then adjusted them to the manual. I got the height where it should be, but hardly had any bounce at all to the front end after that. Thanks agin, Joe.

Joe,

In the mean time, whilst your Northerners wait for springtime, order you a pair of new springs. There is no better cure for old weak springs than new ones. dance

The enclosed springs used in the knee-action units were very special as far as size is concerned. The fact that the height was adjustable if they did sag the front end could be raaied to a degree. Thah is why new will be all but impossible to find.

Gene,

Mayge. I was only going by what BOBG wrote and hoping there may be a solution there. I was not suggesting that they may be as readily available as cup grease. We get it that they may be scarce or all but impossible to find.

Best,

Eaton showed the springs listed ..... BUT no telling if that is still the case today.

All will be known, for a fact, after the phone call to Eaton is made by Joe.

I, personally, have found Eaton to be a good place to deal with. dance

Well Guys, they don't have them! Those that they advertise, won't fit inside the shock housing, and are for modified cars. They referred me to Canton springs, they don't have them either. Soooo-good luck on finding them!!

Sorry to hear that. Will advise you if anything promising shows up. dance

If you have to have springs "custom made", you'll need the specs for the springs.

Go to this GM Heritage site, scroll down, past the accessories, then scroll down more to page 16. All the spring specs are there, lower left corner of page 16.
