back in the 60's, we had a pair of chevy woodies, a 51 and a 52. both had door panels and rear quarter inner panels composed of real wooden panels. as i recall, the garnish moldings were also wood. that was the extent of the use of wood on these pseudo-woodies. they are both deceased at this point i time. however, we still have a 39 chevy woodie, which contains significantly more wood than the pair we had back in the day.mike

That is really a great find. The color is Rodeo Beige. The other wagon colors in 1950 were Oxford Maroon and Crystal Green. The green was a medium gray/green and very metallic and very difficult to duplicate.
If you do decide to restore it and do not have the fender skirts (they were standard equipment) I have aaan excelent pair of used ones.

Not mine and can't afford it right now. Don't want to afford it either! I now understand this barn find 1950 wagon is not yours. But your engine guy will get it running for new owner. Well, still a neat car. I have a fully restored 1951. I don't know how to post photos; but there's a small picture to left of my posts. Yes, interior door panels are real wood. Exterior "wood" was di-noc transfer. About what we'd call contact paper these days. Re-production is available. But many air brush wood grain.....as mine is. Thanks for showing us this neat old survivor/barn find. Bill.

Not certain of rare or not, but that specific car looks as good as the day it was parked at the train station, back in the '50's. The car looks soooo complete.

The 49's thru 51's are not all that rare depending what rare is? Point is that not all that many are being restored or brought back to the road.

If rare is what you are looking for, then opt for the real wood bodied 1949. The final year of the true woodie, and not many left. As for the tin woodies, there are some hard to find interior and exterior parts for them. Some of the parts were specific to just the wagons, which makes them hard to find...
Those accustomed to the finest...find it in Chevrolet. 1953 Belair Convertible 1951 2dr Deluxe Sedan 2015 GMC SLE 4X4
