If you buy the kit from lebaron-bonney, you get everything you need plus instructions on the how too.

you get the underlayments along with the black topping.

LeBaron-Bonney is the best source for this. The instructions that come with the product is most excellent. Also, they have a number you can call for additional help. The personnel are extremely helpful. They are a tad on the costly side but well worth it if you are looking for a perfect top. the technical assistance number is 978-388-8047.

LB doesn't make a kit for the panel truck I'm working on. I just wondwered if someone had any personal experience with installing top material. Wait for a warm day? Stretch the material using weights and hang overnight? Use heat gun to stretch? Thats sort of thing.

Take the measurements of the top opening ...length and width and supply those measurements too Lebaron Bonney. They will supply you with all the matching materials to redo your top. It will cost more than a car because the opening is larger.

The top show material is STAYFAST, you do not shrink or stretch it. Your not putting crappy model a ford rubbery stuff up there. It has to be nailed down using a specific methodology and pulled tight.

LeBonny-Barron will talk to you; Although the catalog does not have your model in there is no reason not to talk with them. They "make" all sorts of other things back in the "shop". After you get the product they offer support. They are the very best in the U.S.A. I am a novice when it comes to car tops. They helped me through my job. It is perfect.
I could tell you some of the things they told me to do, but every top is different. Get advice from them for that perfect job.
