Hello All,
With winter coming on, the question occurred to me about what comfort accessories were offered from the factory and dealers concerning staying warm with vehicles not equipped with heaters? The reason I ask is that my 1931 Chevrolet Coach does not have a heater and how might that have been compensated for by accessories? What do you think?

Accessories were dealer installed items.

Man....I totally agree with that! Who needs an accessory heater with one of those "babes" around?

I have to say I'm 53 and my wife is 43. She is definitely a "heater". I am lucky to have such a high quality, attractive, and hard to find "personally installed" comfort accessory. I am still installing my 31' accessory Chevy heater though, so I can also run it in the summer. You know what will happen if the "personally installed" accessory gets "too" warm. She'll have to cool herself off!
Now I can't wait to get this car back together and finish so I can take my accessory for a ride! Really looking forward to taking a few rides with other members someday.

Harry,

I just took possession of a '32 confederate. One of the items included was this heater. Photo link below. No clue how to hook it up or if it's even period correct. It says Genuine Chevrolet Hot Water Heater on the front.
I'll figure it out someday.

It is a correct heater for your 1932.It mounts to the inside of the firewall on the passenger side, with engine coolant hoses running to it. There is also a dash mounted switch with resistors mounted to it to control the fan speed. A member here makes new switches with the resistor. (Chat member 32confederate)

Wow. Thanks for the background on my heater. I think that switch would make a nice Xmas present for myself. The service news also.

But first, the poor heater needs a ground up restoration. Any volunteers ? gifts yay

Wonder who wrote an article in the G&D that had more information on the installation of the heater including a 1/2 scale template for the firewall holes. Should have been full scale but G&D Editor decided otherwise.

For those interested the article in the G&D on 31-33 Chevy Hot Water Heater installation it is in the February 2005 issue on pages 30-31. Don't know if BBB has scanned that issue or not.
