My wife just gave me my christmas present - a 1931chevy pickup. Currently I just have a few pictures and it should be delivered in a week or so. it looks like its in pretty good shape, but I only make that assumtion based on the pics. I believe the motor will be my first task. Without having it in front of me, my questions to you all would be 1. anything to be watchful for (out of the ordinary) when we pull it 2. any suggestions for a reputable mechanic in the denver area?
this will be my first rebuild and i want it to be as original as possible, so ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated

VCCA members have access to a list of over 50 Technical Advisors who can help you with your car. It's worth the price of membership! While you can get a lot of information for free in this forum, sometimes the info that you REALLY need is only available from the right person. If you go to the VCCA.org main website click on the "club info" tab and select regions. You can move down to the Mile High (CO region). Contact Mary Ann so she can help direct you to the proper person to help. Joining the VCCA will prove to be some of the best money spent on your project. It also allows you to contact the VCCA 1931 truck technical adviser who has messed with '31 trucks for nearly 45 years.
You can join the VCCA on the vcca.org site too.

Andy, As Chipper suggest please join the VCCA as soon as you can. There are lots of great people that have the best information on 1931 chevs. Also check 1931chevrolet.com. It's a great site for information. I also have a 1931 pickup which I obtained 3 years ago. Having and working on these vehicles is a great experience. Regards Lee
