Hi again;

My 38 Master Deluxe has brand new Firestone black walls on it. I am still tempted to throw on some white walls but I want the car to be as close to factory original as possible. Were white walls an option from the factory? Thanks!

I believe Gene has stated that no vehicles came from the factory with white walls in '38. I run blacks because whites are too hard to keep clean.

Tiny;

Thanks for that information. I think I will stay with the black walls. Especially at around $200 a pop for new tires.

That is a really nice looking business coupe you have. My car is black also. As soon as I figure out how to upload a picture, I will post a picture of "Bessie Mae". Not the name I gave her, but I'll keep it. Bad luck to change the name of a boat, I am guessing it goes for cars too!

White walls were not on the factory installed option list for 1938. If desired they are accepted for VCCA judging.

It is refreshing to see a nicely restored car with black walls.

I should add the white walls available in 1938 were double, in other words white on both sides.

So to be period correct the double would/should be required.

I have found that the wheel trim rings really make a difference, and they were an accessory back then. I plan to put new blackwalls on and use trim rings, the red stripes will enhance the overall look.
