Both of my '51's have this sunvisor, neither was installed by me.

Is this the correct sunvisor for the 1951 model?

That visor is correct for US built Pontiacs. The advertised Chevrolet visor is split in the centre with a stainless strip. A lot of dealers would order the Pontiac visor, as it looks better. In Canada, we were a little luckier. The Pontiac visor is the only one listed for both Pontiacs and Chevrolets.

This is from GM Canada's parts book…

If you go to a VCCA show and there are 20 1949-1954 Chevrolets there and 10 have visors 8 of the 10 wtll be the Pontiac visor.
Actually a Chevrolet dealer could order the Pontiac visor through GM parts. Still is incorrect for VCCA judging but seldom caught.

I do like the look of this "Pontiac" visor. Clean, uncluttered.

If the visor would be my only deduction at a VCCA event, I would be extremely pleased.

Thanks Bruce and Gene. dance

The visor Chevrolet sold looked cheap compared to te Pontiac. Also was some what filsy.

I took mine off of the 1950 for two reasons. Fluttered in the wind at high speeds and not good for mountain viewing.

That's why you look for a Canadian car, Bob. The good visor is listed right there in the parts book! Up here, I don't think I've ever seen an American one. I've seen pictures on the internet though, so it must exist...
