I too am a Charlie fan. Having hung around OUR VCCA site for a few years I have found that there are certain people who make the site special for me and Charlie is one of them. Knowledge, humor, sarcasm, wit, patience, empathy, Southernism's, are gifts that lighten up my day. I look forward to someday putting 42specialdeluxe in a Display Name Search and "Fulton" as the Key Word Search Term.

The ironic things is that last night I took my Fulton off my 41 to remove the front windshield for body work. Its the worsest my car has ever looked.



As a memorial to Charlie I would like to post the following:

On the topic of Bullying we all need to be more sensitive. Having just survived another political season, and watched big news national and international stories, we have been bombarded with the favorite tools of bullies. We would like to assume the world is getting better, that mankind is evolving into a kinder gentler species, but sadly we are not.

As 60 year olds, or 80 year olds, or any age we need to learn and relearn what the positive boundaries of our lives should be. It takes a village to raise a child and at times in our lives we are the child needing the help of our parents, spouses, and friends to raise us. Charlie you have been taken to the woodshed now it is time for us all to put our big boy pants on and move on. Charlie I hope you will move on with us. A Big MICHIGAN HUGE GOES OUT TO YOU.

Well, I don't visit here that often, and I didn't read all of the replies, but there is no way I would ever leave a site because of 1 negative comment.

By the amount of replies you have received here, especially in this short amount of time, I would say that you sure are in "good company".

Charlie = I hope you are reading the post on this thread. You are one of the members that make VCCA a great club. Many of us look forward to your humor and wit when defending your '41 and knocking Fulton Sunvisors and fender skirts, etc. My car is a '41 (no fulton or skirts) restored to original(most "older" members prefer original), I will be a 50 year member this year, and I am also 80 years old. We have a lot in common, however I cannot hold a light to your literary talent. I hope the person or persons that criticized you will apologize to you on VCCA CHAT . As you can see by my number of post I don't post many comments but I check the site almost daily. We don't need members that criticize each other but we do need YOU on VCCA CHAT. I don’t know if he still can log on or if he is really gone, but if he is still looking I have to say this. Based on this string you’re pretty famous and I think its time Charlie (Shirley Temple song “Baby take a bow”). Charlie come back and take a bow!

Your problems hopefully have been resolved. You kept us on our toes for a while but sometimes a good exercise is good for all of us.

There are obviously higher heads prevailing here that caused his "decision" and if you read, asked for him to turn in his membership. It is sad but when you are posting on someone else's forums it can be touch and go sometimes - I've been there.

I haven't been on here long enough to get to know Charlie but I have read some of his post and he sounds like a good guy. I say that in protest to Charlie leaving those of us who do not have Fultons should get one not take it off until he comes back

Just to be clear, nobody "asked him to turn in his membership". That is what he deduced on his own, through "reading between the lines"…

We all hope that he's just taking some time off… maybe out there working on the '41 as we speak.

After much soul searching, I have decided that I will tuck my tail and come back. I miss all of you too much to simply stay away.

I know this may disappoint some who I may have "bullied", etc, with my humor but I hole there are not many. I'm sorry.

I have decided that I will stop negative humor directed at Fultons, et al, 47/48 Fleetlines and never mess with Gene. Also, not pick any more fights with and .

48 Chevrolets will be off limits for me and also people name rhymes with "Ben."

Humor will be held to a minimum so that I don't inadvertently and/or unknowingly step on and thus disrespect pickups of any kind.

I will try not to stir the slumber of those who police the Chatter II. I've had about enough of that.

So what's left? Not much. I'll continue to try to stimulate some discussion when the forums go a little stale. You may not have noticed but I've been doing that for some time.

Please don't post no welcome back stuff. It would be right embarrassing.

I regret whatever I did to get me reprimanded. I ain't quite figured it out yet. So be it. In the eyes of the beholder, I guess.
