A friend is building a 37 coupe and has one headlight...

I know there are glass copies on the market...

But in his search can he add any other GM products?

Pontiac or such?

Or is the 37 passenger headlight bucket unique ?

Also I see in GM parts manuals they list a different part number for left and for right but the glass ones seem to say they fit either side...

Is there just some minor difference?

The lamp fits 1937 only, right and left is different and yes, the lenses are the same.

Chevgene,

What determines left or right ?? I had 2 extra headlight buckets sent out to be painted because the originals were rotted and was not aware they are L or R specific. So I didn't think to fit them and mark them accordingly.

One way to tell. If complete with the reflector mounted the parking light socket will be at the top.
The reflector will mount in only one proper way.

Also is the a drain hole at the bottom? or lettering/numbers stamped on the bottom.

I have original dealer parts manuals that list a different part number for left and right.

The question is... is the 37 BUCKET unique... 37 Chev Passenger only.. of did GM use this bucket anywhere else?

Chevgene,

Both of these buckets came with the car and were empty. I thought they were interchangeable. I'll check them out this weekend.

CraigB,

I'm not sure of the history, but I don't think Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick were under the "same roof" during this time period. I'll try my questionable computer skills and research this.
