Our server ran out of memory and was killing inputs.
Cleared everything and rebooted... better... but.... I'm sensing that it's still not rocket speed.

A little after midnight and the Hosting Company has up back up and running.
Things are working -- but they seem sluggish to me.
Please try CHAT and post your findings here. Unfortunately, people will be departing early tomorrow (oops, today) for the Thanksgiving time off.
So we may not get too much more support until next Monday.

Chat was unavailable about 9.am East Aus daylight saving time and was a bit slow loading 12 hours later though after first connection speed did improve.

Good Morning All and Happy Thanksgiving! Chatter is still VERY slow as of 8 AM EST. Up to a minute for the pages to load.

Just after 7AM CST. It's taking 30 seconds to several minutes per page to load. At least I have access to Chat today as opposed to yesterday. Don't you love computers.

I have a 1927 Chevy Capital AA 4 Door also a 1927 Chevy Touring car, a 1936 Chevy 1/2 ton and a 2010 Corvette LT3 Convertible and a 1953 Packard Caribbean. My tow car is a 2011 Suburban.

Yes, I think it did... and we suffered due to the low number of support people working between Thanksgiving Thursday and Sunday.

Final word on our Tuesday outage. I talked by phone with one of the senior system administrators today. He said that our "cluster" of servers were upgraded to a larger cluster with a different software operating program. We were in a group of about 100 clients. Unfortunately, some of the other clients had come over from another company that they merged with a few months ago. It seems that some of them were on accounts which allowed 245 mb of storage - yet they were using 8 gig!!! Once they found this out, they suspended the top ten clients.  So, the outage was not caused in any way by our users, or our software. It was the fault of the hosting company. And for our trouble (and my 17 hour involvement), they offered to credit us with $50. hummmmm..... So now we're back and running again at full speed. And if my observation is correct, the new speed is actually faster than what we had before.  So... bang away - and let's see if we can go another 8 months without an "event"....

In my former working life (Tech Writer for IBM mainframe products), I heard many stories of 'challenges' when business' merged and large systems had to merge also. The system integration was VERY difficult and, of course, had to be done on an aggressive schedule.

Got out of the Navy in 62, went to work for the CRI&PRR shortly thereafter. Was making 1.64 per hour than, with double time or triple time if needed. Man, I was making good money!!
