There are 2 holes about 0.215" dia. in the end of my clutch fork which are about 1" apart. What sort of pins are usually used in these holes? They are too large for cotter pins.
Also, what is supposed to take up the excess space between the holes? Mine had a bunch of 1/2" washers which jingled noisily.

There originally was a small pin that looks more like a round head rivet with hole for the return spring near the end. It goes in one of the holes. I suspect the end one.

That makes sense Chip. I'll see what I can come up with. Now what would you use to fill the excess space between the holes? I could use a piece of tubing or rubber hose I guess. I just don't like a bunch of washers. What do you think would work best?

I am not sure why the space between the holes needs to be filled. Some of the replacement forks have two holes so they can be used on more than one application. The originals of which I am aware only have one.
