This is a 350. The number stamped on the block front boss behind the water pump is:
K0831PHC. Under that in a smaller font type is : CJ 710556. I'm uncertain about the 55 numbers.
It appears the block was made in Ontario August 31st? If so, what year and for what car model?

Produced in St. Catherines, Ontario (McKinnon Industries of Canada), August 31. From what I can tell it's a 1978 Pontiac 305cid, 145hp, 2bbl carb. That's for a PH block, they don't list a PHC.

The smaller numbers are usually the last portion of the VIN. The 'C' puzzles me, but the J = Janesville assembly plant, and the 710556 is the sequential production number.
