I can't make out all the wire tracer colors on the switch,if you've rewired one these could you help? Where do they go when leaving the switch and or the tracer colors.Help,chef,  this is the configuration of the wires as they are soldered to the switch O light 1 2 3 4 5 6 0)? 1)? 2)? 3)? 4)? 5)? 6)?

I would get an Ohm meter or a multimeter(Harbour Freight $2.99) and Check the wires coming out of the switch and see where they go and what they do when the switch is switched. I think you should check the wireing diagram in the shop manual. there is more to hooking up a turn signal switch than you might think. You have to consider the front has two leads, there is a power in lead, a out to the flasher a connection to the stop light switch and a lead to each of the rear lights, and probably some I forgot.
If you mess up you can disable the stop lights pretty easily.

I had an aftermarket switch on it before,which I wired and removed. I have a new harness,it is the wires from the switch that I cannot identify,the tracer colors are too faded.If I could identify the color coding I could easily attach to the harness.I guess the ohm meter will be the way to go,thanks,chef-

Maybe there is a way to enhance the wire colors, wipe them down with WD-40 it may be worth a try.

Some times you can look into where the wires were more protected and see the colors.
If Guide followed the same color codes this is how the 1950-52 switch was coded.
L F red, R F black,L R natural with black and green cross tracer,R R Nat. with green tracer,wwire to stop light switch natural,wire to indiactor (in switch housing) Nat. with black and red tracer,-----If this makes any sense let me know and I'll send you a picture of the wiring diagram--will be absent Thur thru Tues.

you guys always try so hard to help me out!!!I have a good wiring diagram ,plus the harness is very specific and hopefully with the original tracer colors,I removed the wire loom and thought the colors would be nice and bright but not he case,I will need to think this one over a bit,chef-
