I have been asked to help locate some parts for a gentleman in Sweden who is restoring a 41 Special Deluxe. Before looking for some of the parts I do not have I want to make sure everything in the picture he sent is accurate. My concern is with the radio and the plastic plates behind the the choke and throttle. Is this indeed a 41 radio and were there ridges in some of the plastic plates? All of the 41's I have seen at the salvage yard, and mine, are smooth. Are the radio knobs correct? The ones in the picture do not appear to be made out of glass? I still have not been able to find the following parts: Complete dash astray assembly, Special Deluxe steering wheel and horn ring and stainless tabs on the wheel, knob to adjust clock, chrome piece below radio grill and above choke and throttle, radio or just the face with working buttons. I am keeping a close eye on ebay. Thanks, Mike ![[Linked Image from i1321.photobucket.com]](http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u560/41chevymike/IMG_2017_zps78f5512e.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1321.photobucket.com]](http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u560/41chevymike/IMG_2018_zpsc0eca216.jpg)

Mike, The radio looks like a 47-48 than a 41. Its face is all wrong and the buttons are wrong. The knobs are wrong. The plastic plates are wrong (no ridges on a 41). The cigarette lighter should be a cat-eye. Good luck finding the parts he needs. I'll contribute if I can. A list would be helpful. Charlie

Nice looking 5-Band 41 radio. Looks like all it needs is the speaker gasket.

If ebay does not offer you what you want & need, you might try a fellow member, Mike Ramos. He has a LOT of old chevy & 1941 Chevy parts. He's in So. Cal area. PARTSHUSTLER@AOL.COM.
He even has a "City & Country" Horn plate Best of luck, 41MIchael

Brandon, Brandon, Brandon,
I can not thank you enough for your help locating these parts. I have been slowly finding things, but have not gotten the final okay on anything pricey. I will followup on many of the items and mid week let you know how I am doing.
I am especially enthused about the steering wheel and will bid on it. I just bought an astray, without the tray, from ebay for $35.00.
Thanks, you are awesome, Mike

Mike,
You didn't get the ash tray I found on Ebay that was for a 46-48 did you? It lacks the chevy emblem. A true 41 ash tray has the chrome chevy emblem.

Mike, Why are you interested in a 1941 SD steering wheel? I thought the car you're currently doing was a MD. Charlie

Charlie,
Read the first post of this. He's looking for parts for someone else.

Hi Brandon and all,
I am rounding the last turn on locating parts for the Chevy man in Sweden. I bought an ashtray assembly off of ebay which lacks the tray for $35 plus shipping. So I need a tray. I should be getting the assembly this week, so I can verify its condition. It appears to be useable from the ebay pictures, and includes the badge. I kicked as... on ebay by following Brandon's lead and bought the Special Deluxe steering wheel for $27.78 plus shipping.
I still have not heard from the Swedish buyer what he wants me to do about the radio? Does he really want a 41? Does he just want a radio face. How much money does he want to spend? I will contact Ray Holland once I get a firm response, and ask for some advice from you all? I learned you all from Charlie, did to.
My next challenge is to find a rear deck lid (trunk) support assembly brace for a 41 coupe. Looking at the parts list online they list two assembly supports for 1941-48 cars. One for sedans and a different one for coupes and convertibles. They also list two as the number used. I have not seen two supports on any 41's. Can someone kindly tell me the number of supports needed? The part # for sedans is group #12.203 and part #4114964 and for coupes it is part #4114965. So I assume the parts are not interchangeable? I am looking for a source having checked online with Chevs of the 40', The Filling Station, and ebay. All suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks, Mike
P.S. I know they have a coupe at Hillard Auto with a support, but they are closed for the winter.
