Great List Charlie... Yeah, can NOT believe I forgot the Wonder Bar that is an ESSENTIAL !! I Also have a Generous Sized Wrecking (Crow) Bar... Granted have YET to use it on the Antique, but done plenty of HOUSE demo with it :) Also can add my ESSENTIAL List:-My hacksaw & box of Various Blades, also got a Cheap-o Miter Box for it -Tape (Variety of Masking/ Painters, Duct, Packing Clear & Brown Tape in Various widths) -Rope, String, Wire, Cord, Twine (Anything to Tie or Bind Something Up) Also Another ESSENTIAL would be Clamps !! Have some C-Clamps as well as some Bench Clamps. Better throw in the 6in Bench Vise as well. That thing is a great holder & Life Saver !! Use it for what it was meant for and a ton of things it was NOT meant for, but does a great job of anyways !!

I like the item of C-clamps. Why is it when you see one for sale at a flee market, the little saddle is always missing? Worse than the lack of a vent cap on a used plastic gas can. And another desired item is an anvil. Always needing something to hammer against. Straighten stuff up with. Most kids have a difficult time breaking one. But it can be done. Used to be they could have been had for about a buck a pound but I think the price has gone up some lately. They have other uses, as well. When tied off with a chain they keep tossed Fultons from ever again rising from the bottom of a deep lake. Charlie

Turn the bucket upside down for step stool or seat when working on the brakes, etc.

They have other uses, as well. When tied off with a chain they keep tossed Fultons from ever again rising from the bottom of a deep lake. Agrin I hope Charlie isn't over-reacting to this posting about anvils. I would use a six cylinder Nash cylinder block instead of a perfectly serviceable anvil. Also, make sure it is a short, heavy, hi-test, non-rusting chain, or some weird-O will salvage the Fulton! P.S. Chipper: Harable Fright used to make a seat-lid for a 5 gallon pickle bucket, I have two of them. I also have a swiveling seat made for sitting-down dove hunters, works fine for bleeding brakes and sundry other tasks, like a Trick or Treat stakeout. ![[Linked Image from vccachat.org]](https://vccachat.org/images/islands/halloween3.jpg)

Ahhh...
For a step or more so for a seat I have a few Plastic Milk Crates... also work great when you flip them over to put all your crap (tools, parts, trash, pieces, etc...) in to carry back and clean/ put up !!

If you follow up on Mike's suggestion, sooner or later (and probably sooner)you'll have to make a quick trip to a certain room in the house. And you can't do that with greasy hands and shoes if you wish to live to see tomorrow. So, you'll need a washroom built into one corner of your garage, fully stocked of course. Or at least a RV PortiPot!!

Is someone going to compile all the suggestions (at least serious ones) and then submit and article on the shop basics? Would make interesting reading.

The above I would say is NOT a tool, but an Accessory !! which requires another tool ![[Linked Image from s3.amazonaws.com]](https://s3.amazonaws.com/images1.vat19.com/bottle-opener/wall-mount-bottle-opener.jpg) or a work bench edge :)
