I don't believe that the switch has an adjustment. It could be that your switch is worn, maybe install a new switch.

I was thinking that the clutch switch was like a brake light switch and could be adjusted. Have you been under the dash to check?

Here is a link showing the switch and wiring. I don't remember trying to start mine in neutral, because you have to put the trans in Reverse to start it and also take out the key. Have you thought about just building up the clutch pad, if she can shift it just an inch or so may do the trick. https://www.chicagocorvette.net/diagram_view.php?d=2552&rc=2212

Smittty, There is an adjustment, same as a brake light switch. Trying to start the car in nuetral will not matter, the clutch has to be depressed to complete the starer ciruit, same as a nuetral safety switch, same purple wire

I had a 69 roadster 427 390 horse 4 speed and for the life of me I do not remember having to have the clutch depressed to start. If it was that way stock , when I got it in 79 it may have been modified.

Its not uncommon to see the switches wires jumper to bypass the switch.

If I recall it was the 1969 that had the first switch like that to prevent it from being started in gear, the clutch had to be pushed in.
