How can you tell its a REPRO ?
1. wrong color
2. stamping design at base.
3. hinge design.
4. Where can you buy a repro? Ebay for $1000.00

The guy that is reproducing them is a friend of a friend but he still wants way too much for my taste $500 I did a little horse trading with my friend and got one. I've never seen an original one but to me this repro looks a little rough not sharp as I think originals would be. The guy is also making the umbrella carriers.

So, if this is a reproduction, why didn't the seller state as such in his item description instead of leading bidders to believe that it is an original? Here is what he says in his item description: "42-48 CHEVROLET ACCESSORY HAT HOLDER/HAT RACK FOR ALL MODELS, FLEETLINE, FLEETMASTER,STYLEMASTER.VERY RARE ACCESSORY TO HAVE.VERY NICE CONDITION,BEEN IN STORAGE FOR YEARS.NOT BENT.HARD TO COME BY" Obviously, with his reserve price he is trying to rip people off, and his lousy feedback indicates that he has had issues from others.
