I read on another forum (can't remember which one) that motorcycle shock absorber fluid would work.

The forum indicated that a person should use MEDIUM fluid to see if that works. If not, then either a lighter or heavier weight, depending on the outcome of using the MEDIUM fluid.

How about some Delco Hydraulic Shock Absorber Fluid. I have a 5 gallon can almost full.

Chevs of the 40's also sells shock absorber fluid. Of course I bought a quart and will have enough left over for several lifetimes.
