Looking to take out the trans from my '31. I am doing it from under the car. How do I remove the drive shaft? From the front or from the rear of the car. Need to do some clutch work because the adjustment ball screw for the yoke broke. First time trying to do this and don't want to
brake anything. thanks Karl

Check out your 1931 Repair Manual and it gives information on removing the transmission and the clutch assemblies. You can remove the transmission and the clutch without removing the torque tube from the car.

It will be necessary to remove two of the supports (one side at frame rail and link to brake pedal stop. That is so the brake cross shaft can drop down. Remove the four bolts holding the ball housing to the back of the transmission. Then the four nuts holding the U-Joint together. Now you can slide back the ball housing and drop the torque tube to rest on the brake cross shaft. Removing the transmission bolts (two inside and two outside the clutch housing) and sliding the transmission back.
