One of the former owners of my 38 Gr Deluxe decided to change the orientation of the springs on the front to be the same as the truck - he put the shackle attachment on the rear of the frame rail AND the solid mount on the front @@ Why - NO clue but perhaps the shackle was banging on the bottom of the grill because the springs were shot = no idea.

NOw I have to find a set of the front mounts even though they were one piece with the frame - you know they came out and dropped about 2" in the front and reverse the whole mess,\\

ANyone have access to a broken -= destroyed frame they could cut the front end off both rails and ship them to me >> COst TBA

Note that 1938 US Chevrolet cars had the shackle to the rear of the spring. The Canadian Pontiac was reversed.

This is a Canadian Chev - the shackle is supposed to be on the front but he cut it off and moved it - no clue why -

the car probably had knees and was changed to streight axel never did i see one that steared correct.hope this helps
